About

About me:

I am an embroiderer and mixed media textile artist living and working in Ross Bay, Kirkcudbright in Scotland.

I use a wide range of techniques including free machine embroidery, layering of fabrics, fibres and papers to create mixed media textile art.

I work in sketchbooks, sampling, drawing and exploring ideas. I have recently been researching, photographing and drawing ideas based on rocks and stones. In the last few years I have been involved in a group project to create textile art based on Hafodunos Hall in Llangernyw. The body of work created was exhibited at Hafodunos and at the Welsh Assembly Building at Llandudno Junction. Hafodunos Hall is a Victorian Gothic Revival House, ruined by fire in 2004, the current owner is restoring the house and gardens and holds regular open days.

My studio is in a rural location by the sea providing inspiration for local landscapes  and seascapes, which is a topic I come back to frequently, always finding a new aspect to explore.
